Spring is finally here! As the weather warms up and the city’s flowers blossom, family-friendly events are happening all over Charleston. We put together a list of a few of our favorite festivals so that the whole family can enjoy a day out and about on the town!
Party at the Point
The annual Party at the Point concert series is the perfect event to start your spring weekends. This family-friendly event will bring a new band to the Charleston Harbor Resort & Marina every Friday through June. The 2018 Party at the Point season begins on April 27 with Departure: the Ultimate Journey Tribute Band.
Southern Flame BBQ and Music Festival
On April 28th, join other BBQ lovers for the Southern Flame BBQ and Music Festival! The live music lineup will include the world famous Lonesome River Band, as well as bluegrass band Common Ground led by Alan Bibey. Food tickets allow you to sample delicious barbeque as well as savor hamburgers, hot dogs, and other festival fare.
The Southern BBQ network will judge the highly-anticipated BBQ competition with cash prizes awarded to winners. Treat your tastebuds and head on over to this fun-filled festival.
Blessing of the Fleet and Seafood Festival
The 31st annual Blessing of the Fleet and Seafood Festival is an iconic Charleston event you can’t miss. Paying tribute to the Lowcountry’s shrimp and fishing industries, the festival has free activities like a fishing boat parade, crafts, and live music. The event will also feature locally sourced seafood. The April 29th festival will make for a memorable experience your whole family will love!
Spoleto Festival
If there’s an event that Charleston is famous for, it’s the annual Spoleto Festival that celebrates global arts and culture. The 17-day event is one of the major performing arts festivals in America and features over 150 shows. Choose from dance, opera, theatre, jazz, and classical music performances that also include plenty of family fun. The festival lasts from May 25th through June 10th.
