Wisdom teeth are a set of third molars that typically develop between the ages of 17 and 25. Many people might associate wisdom teeth with funny videos of patients coming off of anesthesia; however, wisdom teeth can cause serious problems if they aren’t treated properly. In many cases, an individual’s mouth is too crowded to allow wisdom teeth to develop properly behind the molars, so the teeth become trapped, or impacted, when they begin to grow.
