How many times a day do you eat or drink something acidic? Acid can weaken enamel making it easier to wear and feel pain. Even if your teeth look healthy, you can still be at risk for future problems. When a dentist is checking for tooth pain, or tooth decay, they will also be looking for early signs of acidic erosion. Some signs to look for are:
- Sensitivity
- Cupping
- Cracks
- Discoloration
- Transparency
- Rounded Teeth
A wide range of foods, fruit, wine, juices and teas can affect all age groups. However, this does not mean they need to be avoided completely. Several steps can be taken to protect your teeth against acid damage:
- Brush your teeth gently, with a soft toothbrush.
